THE BASICS TRAIN-THE-TRAINER
Enroll to become an internal trainer of The Basics to support the sustainability and build your capacity as a leader. The train-the-trainer program focuses on supporting participants in developing the skills and knowledge to train others on the key concepts of The Basics. The series also supports and equips trainers with skills to create a trauma-informed learning environment.
About this workshop
Become a trainer of The Basics workshop for your organization or community.
The Basics can be offered in a train-the-trainer format to support the sustainability and build the capacity of internal leaders. The train-the-trainer program focuses on supporting participants in developing the skills and knowledge to train others on the key concepts of The Basics. The series also supports and equips trainers with skills to create a trauma-informed learning environment. The training consists of two all-day in-person workshops and includes opportunities to role-play, reflect, and practice.
In addition to the in-person workshops, you will gain access to:
- A network of trainers who are also implementing this work in their organization or community
- Quartlerly meetings to support trainers throughout their process
- Updated materials as they become available
- Participants will be able to access materials and interact with other participants and Origins staff through Origins’ learning management system (LMS).
*Participation in The Basics is a prerequisite for participation in the train-the-trainer.

This two-hour workshop helps your staff establish a common language around trauma-informed principles and practices so everyone can develop a culture centered on resilience-building together.
Begin by exploring the impacts of toxic stress on both clients and staff, while deepening your team’s understanding of ACEs, as well as the role of systemic and intergenerational adversity. Finally, learn more about the concept of resilience, identify how protective factors can help heal the impacts of trauma, and discuss how resilience can be built and sustained within an organization.

Andi Fetzner, PsyD
Andi Fetzner is a co-founder of Origins Training & Consulting. Her training mantra is, “You don’t have to be a therapist to be therapeutic.” Drawing from her personal and professional background, Andi uses real life examples to explain how this approach can be applied across sectors. She lives in California with her two dogs, Brutus & Princess.
Lori Chelius MBA, MPH
Lori Chelius, MBA/MPH is a co-founder of Origins Training & Consulting. Andi and Lori work with organizations across a number of sectors to build strong foundations based on solid values, build resilience, and provide even better care for the people they serve. Lori lives in California with her wife, three kids, and their dog, Oliver.
