Want to get your ACE Score? Take the interactive ACE Survey here.
The ACE Survey was developed to measure how much exposure a person might have had to experiences that could contribute to the health and behavior outcomes in adulthood. “ACEs” stands for Adverse Childhood Experiences or Adverse Community Environments.
As you respond to this 10-question survey, check “Yes” if the experience happened (even once). Check “No” if the experience did not ever happen. You may think to yourself , “That’s just the way it was. It wasn’t traumatic.” The score at the end of the survey is not a judgment of your childhood but rather a way for you to compare your score with the outcomes from the original study.
At the end of the survey, you will have the opportunity to have the questions and answers emailed to you with a list of online resources for you to access. You can skip that step if you’d like and view your “score” or the total number of ACEs. From there, you can continue on to the Resilience Survey and learn more about what makes you resilient!
