THE BASICS:
1 WORKSHOP FOR ALL
Create a shared language for a trauma-informed approach
Start here!
This workshop helps your staff establish a common language around trauma-informed principles and practices so everyone can develop a culture centered on resilience-building together.
Begin by exploring the impacts of toxic stress on both clients and staff, while deepening your team’s understanding of ACEs, as well as the role of systemic and intergenerational adversity. Finally, learn more about the concept of resilience, identify how protective factors can help heal the impacts of trauma, and discuss how resilience can be built and sustained within an organization.
THE RESILIENCE CHAMPION:
6 WORKSHOP SERIES
Move from Aha to Action!
In the Resilience Champion series, your action team (who will lead your implementation) will participate in a six-workshop series which helps translate and operationalize the key concepts of a trauma-informed approach in your unique organization. Together with your colleagues, you will develop a shared foundation, specific goals, and concrete steps to create and sustain a resilient culture.
Topics include Setting the Foundation and Defining Your Team, Reflecting on Your Leadership Style, Defining Your Values and Vision, Defining Your Values and Vision, Defining Your Values and Vision, Exploring Your Strength and Needs, Creating an Action Plan, Capstone and Next Steps.
TRAUMA-INFORMED TIPS:
6 WORKSHOP SERIES
This series offers practical tips for implementing a trauma-informed approach. Using trauma informed principles adapted from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) (safety, trust, togetherness, agency, collaboration, belonging), each one-hour workshop in this series focuses on one principle and offers three practical tips to support the application of that principle.
THE BASICS TRAIN THE TRAINER:
1 VIRTUAL & 2 DAY IN PERSON SERIES
The Basics can be offered in a train-the-trainer format to support the sustainability and build the capacity of internal leaders. The train-the-trainer program focuses on supporting participants in developing the skills and knowledge to train others on the key concepts of The Basics (see description above). The series also supports and equips trainers with skills to create a trauma-informed learning environment. The training consists of two all-day in-person workshops and includes opportunities to role-play, reflect, and practice.Â
About these workshops
A guide to integrating a trauma-informed approach into your work
We can provide a custom process to develop a shared language around trauma-informed principles and practices, then translate these key concepts into action for your organization.
The framework taught in The Basics and Resilience Champion workshops can be applied in a variety of sectors (including schools and education, healthcare and community health centers, law enforcement, social work, child welfare, criminal justice, non-profit, and more) or in a cross-sector setting (such as a community group).
While we will discuss the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences /Adverse Community Environments (ACEs), this is more than just another ACEs training. These workshops model the trauma-informed approach that you will bring back to your team and demonstrate how to integrate leadership, culture-building, and mindfulness into your specific setting.
