COURSE OPENS MARCH 8, 2021.
A timely program for effective healing, positive change and resilience building in these times of unrest and uncertainty. 2020 has put trauma, and the dire need for all sectors of our society to become trauma-aware, informed and responsive, on the front page. Standing forward as a leader in this movement requires courage, stamina and support to sustain the vision and call to action required of changemakers.
The Change Maker Bridge Course (which includes The Basics for free!) is a six-module workshop for leaders who want to strengthen a personal and professional capacity for resilience building. Knowing that all and lasting change starts from within is one of the most important attributes of a true changemaker.
This course acts as a bridge between The Basics and The Resilience Champion. Each video module is its own practicum: one plank on the bridge at a time. Included is an introduction to the theme (or “plank”), a guided meditation, a written journal process (downloadable pdf) and recommendations for self-care and next steps. You will all gain access to 1:1 coaching (for an additional fee) with Kamakshi Hart, MA.
Module One: Awareness – the first plank on the bridge: what we focus on gets stronger.
Self-awareness is a protective factor that builds our Resilience Zone and makes us better communicators. Essential for the setting of healthy boundaries and the ability to self-regulate, the Awareness Module is intended to enhance assimilation of The Basics Course information through a whole-self (emotions, thoughts, behavior and conscious choice) integrative approach.
Module 2: Acceptance – making peace with ourselves, others and our circumstance.
Through Acceptance, we can become peacemakers, an essential characteristic of a changemaker. Returning the power of choice directly to the individual rebuilds self-esteem, foundational to building resilience. You will have a new skill set to heal underlying judgments and misperceptions that stand in the way of having compassion for ourselves and others.
Module 3: Adjustment – from reactive to responsive, regulation and the resilience zone.
In this module, we take an honest look at the patterns and behaviors that we have acquired. The principle and practice of Adjustment works through attention, attitude, assessment and action. The willingness to pivot, a popular term in current times, is an essential attribute of the Changemaker and Resilience Champion who must build consensus within their community.
Module 4: Agreement, inner harmony through forming a unified whole within.
Coherence means to be logical, consistent and move toward a unified whole. Once we’ve chosen our Adjustments we need to discover if all parts of the “committee of ourselves” are in Agreement. When we come to our own personal consensus with regard to our values and choices we are better equipped to hold a strong voice for unity of purpose with others.
Module 5: Alignment, a call to action for congruence with values and purpose.
Congruent means, “agreeing, meeting together”. Agreement gets a significant boost when it uplifts to Alignment. Just as Adjustment needs Agreement for follow-through, Agreement needs Alignment in order to become a sustainable upgrade to a culture. Each individual of a team needs to be in Alignment, in order for change to be effective and sustainable for the long term.
Module 6: Actualization, “. . . the desire to become more and more what one is, to become everything that one is capable of becoming.” -Abraham Maslow
Maslow summarized that self-actualizers have the ability to achieve more frequent moments of joy and tend to be highly creative, autonomous, objective, concerned about humanity, and accepting of themselves and others. Though Actualization is depicted as the apex of the pyramid, it isn’t the end of the journey. It’s actually just the beginning of a new paradigm.
Through the life-changing lens of appreciation and acknowledgment, the goal of this course is experientially revealed. When you and/or the team that you are leading are valuing yourselves for your strengths and intrinsic worth then you will have a true community of human beings who can accomplish pretty much anything they choose to work toward together!
